Internet Guidelines for Children

Objective: The objective of the internet guidelines is to  guide you in accessing Internet safely and securely.  These guidelines
  Helps you in understanding the necessity for the rules to access the internet so that you can take the responsibility for your own actions.
  To make  your; own judgment on your actions and consequences.

• Firstly Understand the computer and how it works whenever its connected to Internet.
• Agree what type of sites are permissible (or safe) to access or assigned by your parents.
• Need to follow tips for defining and managing passwords.
• Don't reveal your password to others, except to the responsible adults in your family.
• Take backup of important documents.
• Don’t open e-mails, files or web pages received from people whom you don’t know or trust. Also don’t forward them through chat or e-mail to your friends.
• Others privacy and safety are equally important as ours. See that any of your online actions are not going to affect the privacy and safety of others.
• Be careful while dealing with online friends
• Don't give out information about yourself like your name, your phone number, where you live, or your school details, your digital photograph, family details etc to online  friends without your parents permissions. 
• If somebody sends you something that makes you uncomfortable, bring it to the notice of your parents, they know what to do.
• Avoid face-to-face meetings with online friends, because people in real life can be very different from how they are online. But in case if you feel it is required, you should bring it to the notice of your parents. Let your parents join you or let meeting be arranged in public place.
• Let your parents aware of the online services accessed by you. Always follow your family's rules in using Internet. These rules are made to make sure you have fun and stay safe online. Please sign the Internet usage contract of your family.
• Don't do anything that could cost your family money unless your parents are there to help you do it.
• Be aware of copyright issues while using the online information.
• Don’t click links or URLs that look suspicious.
• Internet helps you in accessing the required information within no time. Using the online services in a proper and right way, will definitely provide entertainment and also contribute to your personality growth.
• Stop downloading softwares or music  freely  from untrusted sites  they may bring viruses into your PC without your knowledge.
