Information Security Awareness Workshop

Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) organized a Workshop on Information Security Awareness on 8 March 2011 at Air Force Station, Halwara.  For the same around 350 members participated .

The workshop started with Welcome Remarks by Wing Commander Piyush Garg of Airforce Station, Halwara.
Mrs Navroop Kohli, Project Associate, C-DAC Mohali in his detailed presentation  discussed how to protect one’s computer from Malware like virus / worm / Trojan / spyware. Mrs. Navroop also discussed how to protect oneself from spam,phishing scam, identity theft, clickjacking, tabnapping and from keyloggers . What preventive measures should take to save their system to become Zombie and to their network become botnet. Detailed about Internet Browser Security, cyber
threats.
The workshop was mixture of theory, practical, demo videos, with suitable examples for some of the topics.

Participants were highly satisfied with the technical sessions and emphasized the need of such workshops more frequently.
