Information Security Awareness workshop conducted and for the same around 300 students, teachers and parents from various schools such as Aurobindo School, Deepika English Medium School, Delhi Public School,DeSouza's School, GTB Public School, Guru Nanak School, Ispat English Medium School, MGM English School, Saint Joseph School, Saint Mary's School participated in the workshop.

The programme started at 8:00 am with brief introduction to Information Security by Prof. Sanjay Kumar Jena, Coordinator of the workshop.
Prof. Prafulla Chandra Panda, Director of NIT Rourkela inaugurated the workshop.
Prof. Sanjay Kumar Jena, PI, ISEA, NIT Rourkela highlighted the objective of organizing such activities for various school students and teachers.
Prof. Ashok Kumar Turuk, HOD, CSE, NIT Rourkela explained the need of security in the use of Internet.
Saroj Kumar Panigrahy, ISEA Project Officer, introduced about the ISEA workshop and its objective and various aspects of information security.
Asish Kumar Dalai, ISEA Project Associate, discussed with demo the following
topics:

• Cyber usage at home and school: General Security, Ethics, Safety, Browser Settings, Instant messaging, Copyrights, Best Practices
• User Credential Protection: Passwords and Social Engineering, Online transaction Security, e‐mail Security

After that a 15 minutes break was there for providing snacks to the participants.
Suraj Sharma, ISEA Project Associate, discussed in the following areas.

• Personal Computer Security: OS Updates, Antivirus settings, Anti spyware,Desktop firewall,Physical Security, Data Backups and storage.
• Then, animation videos regarding safe internet usage, software updation, antivirus software usage were shown to the participants.
• Also cartoon videos were shown regarding how to use internet, online chatting,etc. by taking the help of parents.

Then, question & answer session was there for clarification of the doubts of the participants and quiz session was held.

Feedback  from students and teachers were collected . We got the positive response from various participating schools and also got requests to conduct such type of workshops in future.
