One day work shop on Information Security Education Awareness was organized by DOEACC Society, Aizawl at Govt Hrangbana College on 19th August 2010. The objective of the ISEA work shop was to generate information security awareness among the various users like children, home users, Government users, students, teachers of Educational Institutes and IT professionals. There were 105 numbers of students, 42 numbers of teaching and non teaching staff from Govt. Hrangbana College as participants in the ISEA Workshop. The workshop was inaugurated by Shri T.P. Singh, Director, DOEACC Society, Aizawl in the presence of local print and electronic media. Vice Principal, Govt. Hrangbana College, Aizawl and Vice President, Mizoram Computer Science & Engineering Association were also present to grace the occasion.
The work shop had three technical sessions and covered five following topics
- Why cyber security is Important?
- Basic Security Concepts and cyber usage at home and school
- User credential Protection
- Personal Computer Security
- Laws/policies Standards and computer forensic
The first technical session was chaired by Dr. Suprakash Maiti, Govt. Hrangbana College, Aizawl. The second technical session was chaired by Er. Zohmachhuana Khawlhring, Vice president, MICSEA, Aizawl and the last session was chaired by Shri T.P Singh, Director, DOEACC Society, Aizawl. The technical session was followed by a quiz competition. In valedictory, Vice Principal, Govt. Hrangbana College, distributed certificates to the attendees and prizes to the first, second and third winner in the quiz competition. The work shop concluded with a vote of thanks to the Guests and participants of the work shop.
