C-DAC Mohali has conducted the Information Security Education and Awareness workshop to 50 employees of HMT Ltd., Pinjore at their campus on 10th Aug 2010.

Ethics to follow while doing internet were told to them. Explained them how we make our system & network secure. Safe browsing, safe chatting, were discussed broadly and the precautions to be taken while surfing Internet were briefly elaborated. Topic on Identity theft and security measures for protecting information online was discussed. Employees  shared their experiences with different kind of problem they normally faced over Internet. Topics about scareware were also discussed.


The feedback from Mr. Jatinder Vijh, Dy. General Manager (HRM) has been received.

The inputs provided by Shri Vijay Kumar of C-DAC to the participants were indeed highly appreciated by the participants, making them more aware on the need to secure information. The success of the workshop can be gauged from the fact that the participants themselves requested to extend the workshop beyond the allotted time. The workshop was interactive in nature and numbers of case studies were presented. The literature provided to the participants was quite informative. We also would like to place on record our appreciation for Shri Daveet Singh Lobana for providing assistance to Shri Vijay Kumar for the successful conduct of the workshop.

We keenly look forward to similar programmes in future also.
