Information Security Awareness workshops was organized for official of DIT and its attached offices/Societies. The workshop objective was to guide participant in accessing Internet safely and securely & understanding rules to access the internet.

Officials were split into 7 batches, having 50-70 participant’s in each batch.

In the First batch around 50 particpants attended the workshop. In between the session quiz was conducted and awarded with fabulous gifts.

Program Content
The module is designed in such manner to make people exposed to various areas like
Information Security Awareness Issues Presentation,To make aware proper use of Internet

There are various risks while using computers connected to internet which can corrupt/damage your data or trouble you while accessing Internet. The workshop had cater the need of the all the participant from different perspective like, need of proper use of Internet, Information Security Issues like strong password enforcement, identity theft, cyber crimes like spamming, phishing, social engineering etc. The presentation was very interactive by using lot of video clippings, arranging quizzes and explaining real time stories.
Internet Threats like phishing scams, identity theft and many more were discussed and tips for securing the internet browser were given to the participants. The participants were enthusiastic on using Internet and shared their experiences with different threats over Internet.
Later the session’s continued with the importance of passwords, its attacks with examples, importance of browser security and e-mail security with example how to trace the e-mails from unknown.
Good feedback represented the participant’s keenness to learn about security issues while browsing the internet. Participants were extremely satisfied and happy this was evidenced from the kind of interaction and enthusiasm which they have shown through asking various questions related to Internet and good response in the quiz session that was also a part of the workshop.
