Workshop on Information Security Awareness

The Information Secuirty Awareness Workshop conducted for 60 Govt. Employees at APGENCO.The Executive Director Shri A.Rama Rao addressed the gathering and shared his experince on Internet World and also mentioned the importance of Information Security Awraeness.

The chief guest Shri.T.S.Uma Maheshwar Rao Inspector of Police cyber crime cell, Hyderabad shared his experience and told about some of the risks that are involved through internet like Identity theft, Nigerian Scams, Social Networking Risks,Phishing Scams, Property Scams and told be aware of risks which come with internet from unknown users or strangers and follow some of the guidlines and tips to prevent being a victim.

Later Mrs.Indraveni discussed the technical issues like Active X, Cross site Scripting with examples. Also told the how to enable the security features in the web browser, how to add the sites under trusted and untrusted sites and advantages of parental control bar.

Demos were shown like cyber bullies, safe search filtering, blocking the pop-ups,Web browser security

At the end of the session quiz was conducted and winners awarded with prizes.
