Information Security Awareness Workshop

Information Security Education and Awareness workshop was conducted on 6th September 2010 at CDAC Mohali, Punjab 80 Students (including staff members) attended the workshop. The students from different course participated in the workshop. ISEA books were distributed to the participants for future reference.

The Speaker of the presentation Mr. Vijay Kumar started the presentation with what is internet ,and pros and cons of internet.
During the session he also discussed on following topics:
- Malware’s
- Practical presentation of Trojans and damage done by them.
- Phishing , Hoaxes
- Password Policies
- Browser Security
- Operating System security
- Best practice on internet
Apart from this he also discussed symptoms of infected computers. How viruses ,Trojan , spyware and worms work and steps to prevent them.
