Workshop on Information Security Awareness
Date : May 14th 2010 From 2.30 PM to 5.00 PM
Venue : College of Air Warfare, Secunderabad
The Information Security Awareness workshop conducted for 33 participants at college of Air Warfare. The Wing Commander Mr. Patel gave the brief description and importance of the workshop.
Mrs. Indraveni gave a brief description about the ISA program and continued the session along with OmAarathi.S on most common attacks like Credit cad scams, Social Engineering, Identity Theft, Denial of Service ,Phishing , captchas, and skimming with latest scenarios and example.
Also told how to prevent the attacks by following some safety precautions like safe web browsing, blocking the e-mails from unknown users, using the updated anti virus.
Practical examples were shown on how to check the trusted and unstrusted sites, check the certificate of a trusted site, how to trace a e-mail received from unknown user.
Over all workshop was successful and C-DAC Hyderabad received good feedback.
