 The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) Government of India organization under the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority. APEDA is mandated with the responsibility of export promotion and development of the agriculture products.
CDAC Delhi in association with CDAC, Hyderabad has conducted the Information Security Education and Awareness workshop on 19th Aug 2010 at APEDA Conference hall, New Delhi to around 30 Non-IT staff. The staff from various divisions participated in the workshop and was actively involved during the sessions.
The objective of the workshop was to create awareness and guide employees for Internet safely and securely.
Topics on safe browsing, Online Safety Vs Online Security were discussed broadly and the precautions to be taken while surfing on Internet were briefly elaborated. Common attacks while using Social Engineering, Identity theft, Denial of service, Phishing were discussed in details. Official were very much interested in “How to do safe transition on internet”. Cyber Crimes topic was also discussed in deep.
Official shared their experiences & problem they normally while using internet. APEDA employees were very happy to understand information security issues and they promise to use the information in their day to day computer usages.
