The workshop was conducted on 20th Oct 2011 at Khalsa college, Amritsar for students of the college. There were total of 130 students of class BCA, Msc-IT. The college HOD was also actively involved during the workshop. The key speakers for the workshop were Mr.Apoorv Sharma and Mr. Daveet Lobana. During the workshop students and teachers were provided awareness on threats to our information and communication, especially when using Internet. Information security  model along with threats and vulnerabilities (masquerading, sniffing, fabrication etc) were covered in depth.

The workshop was held in session wise manner and the following sessions were held.

• Introduction to Information Security
• Detailed session on Threats, Vulnerabilities, Browser, IM, Downloads, anti-Virus, Firewall, OS updates, SPyware, Keyloggers etc.
• Practical session on Firewall, Antivirus, OS updates, Internet browser, passwords
• Firewall usage and its configuration
